Meet Dave

 Proven leader, integrity and service

Dave is an active member in the Calhoun County community. As a veteran and local elected official, Dave is committed to putting people over politics and working in a bipartisan effort to be an advocate for our community as our next State Representative.

Deep Calhoun County Roots

Dave’s family has been a part of our community going back into the 1800’s.  His great grandfather Benjamin Morgan was the Bedford Township Supervisor in the late 1800’s as well as one of the largest farmers in Calhoun County.  Morgan Road was named in his honor which leads from Bedford Charter Township, to Pennfield Charter Township where Dave is the current Township Supervisor.  Dave attended and graduated from Pennfield High School in 1982.

Service to our Community, State, and Country

Dave has spent his entire life serving our community, state, and country. For 11 years Dave was honored to serve in the United States Air Force, United States Air Force Reserves, and Michigan Air National Gourd.  A veteran of Desert Storm, Dave has continued to be a non-stop advocate for our veterans, current members of our armed forces, and the families of these heroes. Dave’s father Frank Morgan and Grandfather Dr. Paul Morgan proudly served their country as well in the United States Air Force.  Dave continues his service in our community as Director of the Annual Calhoun County Armed Forces Appreciation Day Event, as well as serving as the Director of the Calhoun County Red White Blue Foundation.

Dave currently serves on the Battle Creek Area Transportation Study (BCATS) Policy Board, both Pennfield Charter Township and City of Battle Creek Wellhead Protection teams, and twice has been elected by his peers as Chairman of the Area Metropolitan Services Agency Board which includes the City of Battle Creek, City of Springfield, Bedford Charter Township, Convis Township, Emmett Charter Township, Leroy Township, Newton Township, Pennfield Charter Township as well as Calhoun County.  In 2018, Dave graduated from Michigan Townships Association’s (MTA) intensive Township Governance Academy.

Family

Dave has held many titles in our community, but he will tell you by far the most important one to him is dad.  His daughter Jayden will be entering her freshman year at Lakeview High School. Dave’s entire life of service has been about bringing people together as a team. Working together to move our communities forward, with long term fiscally responsible planning and opportunities, is what Dave will do. And as YOUR State Representative he will fight to bring the much-needed resources back to our district and communities.
